Hi just a FYI to my friends,
I will not be breeding another lab litter. Some of the people
who co-own with me will, and I can refer to them, but there is
nothing in the works at this time.
My reasons to stop breeding Labradors is that I have never felt
that breeders should live off their dogs. It is not about
pumping out puppies and how many labs can one own to live off
their dogs. I have been into boxers a long time and I personally
feel that you cannot do both breeds justice. Showing is very
expensive and I simply cannot afford to show labs and boxers
both. So, to have lab litters to just have puppies, in my
opinion and in good conscious, is not the right thing for me. I
know that not everyone agrees with me, but that is the way I
feel and I will continue to follow my heart. I still have frozen
semen on Chester and will be used only when I see the right
bitch come along with the right breeder and pedigree. It will
not be used for the sake or producing a litter of pets. I love
my labs and will continue to do so, but my heart is and always
has been with my boxers.
With this economy and so many dogs turned in rescue/pounds and
dumped on the streets I will be very selective in my breeding
program, only breeding to better the breed and for my next show
hopeful.
In the meantime, my good friend, Lisa Moore, of Fairwinds
Labradors, will be taking over Fanta-C Labradors. You can find
her new site and the dogs we co-own
HERE.
Sincerely,
Christie Waite |
